B43 CHASSIS REGISTER

The B43 was surprisingly unpopular, it had a reputation for being difficult to set up and only two cars were seen regularly in the UK, Jim Crawford and Barry Green were the drivers. The works effort was based on European drivers, Siegfried Stohr won the opening round of the Italian Championship at Misano and following another three wins and two second places he went on to win the Italian F3 Championship.

Michael Bleekomolen took a win at Enna and seconds at Zandvoort and the Österreichring and a third at Zolder in the European Championship. Patrick Gaillard had two wins in the European rounds at the Nurburgring and Imola as well as a second at Magny Cours in the same series additionally nearly winning at Monaco. Jochen Dauer won two rounds of the German F3 Championship at the Diepholz and Erding airfield circuits.

Rear suspension changes were introduced during the course of the year but the car only seemed to perform well on fresh rubber or after painstaking dialling into the track but its success showed that it was capable of running with the best of the competition.
